Adenohypophysis is the anterior part of pituitary derived embryologically from Rahke's pouch the outpouching of the pharynx. It consists of three parts: pars distalis, pars tuberalis, and pars intermedia. adenohypophysis secretes six hormones, some are tropic hormones influencing the secretion of other endocrine glands. secretion of hormones are regulated by hypothalamus, part of diencephalon of the brain.
