Permaculture Principles of Ecological Design, Whole Systems Thinking Permaculture principles are based on the integration of the whole systems thinking and design processes involving; ecology, ethnobiology, geography, topography, and earthworks (landscape design). In this video I review each of the popular 12 permaculture principles that David Holmgren has made popular. It’s the combination of the principles that can create amazing designs based on ones experiences, goals, and the lens which they view the resources and flows of energy on a site. I must admit that I am still enamored with the power within the toolkit we call the permaculture principles. Each time I revisit an element within a design that I have created, I see changes that I did not anticipate including species on site that are very rare in the region. I encounter challenges a.k.a. failures which I review in the video. I created this video because I wanted to provide context for future videos that I hope to share that will shed light of some of the systems that I have incorporated on site as well as future systems that I plan to incorporate.
