A 34-story building collapsed in Bangkok on Friday, March 28, after a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck neighboring Myanmar. Anansit Yamee captured this footage showing a crane on top of the building, which was under construction, swaying before the structure collapsed. “I encountered an earthquake, which I had never experienced before in my life. So I took out my phone to record a video,” Yamee told Storyful. “I pointed the camera at the top of the building and saw the construction site shaking back and forth. It was very scary. The building collapsed right before my eyes. I was very shocked by this.” News reports citing Thai officials stated that 101 people were missing, and at least 10 were confirmed dead in the collapse. At least 144 people had been killed and 730 others injured in Myanmar by the earthquake, according to BBC Burmese, citing the head of the ruling military junta. Credit: Anansit Yamee via Storyful
