Kevin O'Leary announced plans to build the world’s largest data center, Wonder Valley, in northwest Alberta’s Municipal District of Greenview, four hours from Edmonton. Dubbed the Greenview Industrial Gateway, the 7,000-acre site aims to generate 7.5 gigawatts of power with off-grid natural gas and geothermal energy. The project, estimated at $70 billion, is still in its early stages, with only a letter of intent signed. Greenview’s cold winters could cut cooling costs for at least five months annually, and O'Leary cited the region's skilled workforce, pro-business policies, and tax benefits as key advantages. With just 8,000 residents in the area, development would be transformative. Thoughts: Will this get built? What do you think of the location and its potential?
