You know that we tested Lexus ( Toyota ) Awd Hybrid ( Toyota Rav4) system before and we were not impressed on how it managed to handle little bumps! We had the chance to test the RX 450h L AWD ( which is an impressive and comfortable machine overall ) but find out it's not powerful enough in the back to get over the small segment of our famous diagonal test bump! The Lexus RX 450 HL comes with the Lexus Hybrid Drive with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, two Motor Generator, Motor Generator and a planetary-type electronic continuously variable transmission (eCVT). It's good for 308 total system horsepower. It's standard AWD with an independent rear electric motor generator and a 37 kW nickel metal hydride (Ni-MH) hybrid battery. 67 hp in the rear is just not enough to pass our hill with traction control enable or not! But don't be fool by its AWD performance, it remains a reliable vehicle with excellent fuel economy for a luxury crossover! So check out our diagonal test of the Lexus RX 450h L AWD system!
