President Donald Trump signed two executive orders on Monday that will eliminate "cashless bail" for arrests in Washington, D.C., and crack down on burning the American flag. The executive order on cashless bail tasks Attorney General Pam Bondi with identifying jurisdictions in the U.S. that have cashless bail policies, and withholds or revokes federal grants to those jurisdictions. "We're ending it. But we're starting by ending it in D.C., and that we have the right to do through federalization," Trump said. An executive order ending cashless bail in D.C. could threaten to withhold federal funding or government-backed project approvals if the policy does not end, according to Axios.
