But this one small structure is the reason Disney California Adventure's most successful land works, and without it, Radiator Springs would have been a shallow mess! We break down the incredible design secret and design compromise from Walt Disney Imagineering that saved the land and helped turn around DCA. When Imagineer Bob Weiss demanded that Cars Land be pushed all the way back to the service roads to create the massive scale of the Cadillac Range mountains, they were left with a massive problem: where to put the critical backstage facilities needed to run the land? The answer was a brilliant compromise: they disguised the original DCA 1.0 buildings on stage and created an invisible path for cast members and characters. This design trick created the necessary depth, which gave us the intimate, "Disneyland-style" quiet streets like Cross Street West and the breathtaking views from Radiator Springs Racers. This is the untold story of how one necessary compromise led to one of the most perfect and richly detailed themed lands Disney has ever built. 🔔 Hit subscribe for more Disneyland and Disney history secrets! #CarsLand #DisneylandSecrets #DCA #Imagineering #RadiatorSprings #DisneyParks #BackstageDisney THE BRICKEY VLOG Did you know Hey, Brickey! has a second daily channel?
