If you we inchesre looking for something with a larger surface, it's available in 12 inches as well. So adding a lube plate to your kingpin is gonna help replace the old method of using grease to lubricate the pivot point on the head of your fifth wheel. So I have this example here of what your kingpin is, and basically what you're gonna do with your lube plate on your trailer, you're gonna actually just slide it around, and that's gonna work to keep the friction down as you go through. So going over here, we're gonna lock our jaws in, and as you can see at this pivot point, it's giving us that lower resistance as far as being metal on metal. So this is just a demonstration since I don't have a trailer to hook it up with, but it just gives you a perspective of how it's installed. If you're looking to upgrade from grease, this is a great option. It's a lot cleaner and you know visibly that you have something between the kingpin and the head to give you some lubrication. These guys are universal and gonna work with most kingpin hitches. Now as far as if you were purchasing a Curt Q20, like this guy here, they're actually included with those Curt hitches, so it's something that wouldn't be a bad idea just to have a spare on hand. So again, this is Ed with etrailer.com taking a look at the Curt 10 inch, fifth wheel lube plate. Have a great day.
