Running out of VRAM wasn't a concern for me even with only 8GB on my 3060TI... until I started actually running out of it in games. So I researched what new GPU would be right for me in this current market. I landed on the 7800XT and I'll tell you why. I had a couple of things my new GPU would need including more VRAM. I also wanted it to be affordable, so that eliminated NVIDIA for me since their only "well" priced GPU was the 4070 Super, but that only had 12GB of VRAM. I also wanted it to be better than a 3080/50% or more better than my 3060TI. The 7800XT checked all these boxes, plus with AMD they have great software which has built-in overlocking/undervolting in the software. All of the things I wanted the 7800XT had. I was also considering the 7900GRE, but there was a sale on the ASUS DUAL OC 7800XT which made it around $80 USD cheaper. If I went for the 7900GRE that would make it harder to choose between that and the 4070 Super too. So no to that. I hope you enjoy this little video I made from my average consumer self.
