Here’s a recipe parody from my 1st appearance on the Merv Griffin show in 1979. I wrote the “American Cooking” bit with my friend, the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Wendy Wasserstein. Watching this again for the first time in over 30 years I was struck that I performed this at Merv’s prompting without cue cards or teleprompter! Having Walter Matthau laugh- well, that is the frosting on the lime jell-o.
