Every week, I set aside $20 and scour my local area in search of any historically/culturally significant, valuable or just plain COOL items I can save from a landfill bound fate. This week started strong with a match to my vintage Dooney & Bourke purse from a while ago! It is the same brown/black pebble grain leather but has a different closure/size. I have amassed quite a beautiful vintage dooney collection over the last 6 months, which I will be making available for purchase closer to the end of the year! Eeek! Big things are coming, guys 🥰 Next, I found a really fun art deco era throwback! A pair of bakelite tools with monogram etchings on them! The long, flat tool was used to hold your boots out while lacing them up. The second, hooked tool was used for fastening the tiny buttons that were on boots during the late 19th and early 20th century. I have talked before on this page about celluloid / bakelite and while I know they can be risky products, I always buy them! They're such a novelty. Of course, I jumped at the chance to add another piece of weighted sterling to my collection! This one is fun because it has a top liner that screws in and isn't weighted, giving the piece a bit more value and charm! Lastly, I found an adorable little sterling cowboy hat ring! It incurred some damage from being at the bottom of the bin, but this is a perfect opportunity to take a few of my damaged pieces in to my local jeweler and pay to have them fixed. This is a great hack for both thrifters, as well as anybody who might need tiny re-alignments/adjustments. What was your favorite find this week? I would love to hear your thoughts below 💛 #thrifting #thrifthaul #goodwillbins #resellercommunity
