This exquisite OM Cutaway design pairs a Solid Torrefied Sitka Spruce top with Solid African Mahogany back and sides – a time-honoured tonewood combination that delivers both clarity and warmth in perfect balance. The top has undergone a meticulous roasting, or torrefaction, process: the spruce is air-dried, then carefully heated in a controlled, oxygen-reduced environment to remove excess moisture before being reconditioned. The result is a top that is more stable, responsive, and sonically mature – producing a voice with enhanced projection, rich overtones, and the played-in character of a well-loved instrument decades its senior. The Satin Sunburst finish allows the natural character of the torrefied spruce to shine through, while solid Flamed Maple binding adds an elegant contrast and subtle luminescence around the body’s contours. Electronics are courtesy of Fishman’s Flex-T system, combining an undersaddle piezo with an internal condenser microphone for a natural, expressive amplified tone.
