The trade war between the US and China is getting ramping up with Beijing reportedly banning its major airlines from accepting deliveries of American-made Boeing jets. The country's three biggest airlines had been expected to spend billions on more than 170 aircraft in the next three years. Australian Aviation's senior journalist Jake Nelson says Boeing had at least 27 jets earmarked for delivery to China this year, with 10 planes already built and awaiting delivery. But he says there might be now be an opportunity for international airlines, including Virgin Australia, to swoop. Mr Nelson also discusses why China's ban could end up slowing the expansion of China's own domestic aviation sector, which had been on track to become the biggest in the world - overtaking the US - by 2035. This interview also covers whether the implications for Airbus are all on the upside.#ABCBusiness Subscribe: http://ab.co/1svxLVE ABC News provides around the clock coverage of news events as they break in Australia and abroad.
