Oil prices slipped today after a 2% decline in the previous session, as traders monitored peace talks aimed at ending Russia’s war in Ukraine, weighed concerns over ample global supply and awaited the U.S. interest rate decision. Brent crude futures dropped 55 cents, or 0.88%, to $61.94 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude fell 63 cents, or 1.07%, to $58.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Gold prices climbed as traders stayed optimistic ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision, while silver surged to an unprecedented $60 per ounce amid tightening supply conditions.
