This is the second of three exercises we did following the Vojta method. This exercise was introduced around 2.5 months after we'd practiced the first and third exercises for a while. Once introduced, it always follows the first exercise. This is a continuation of the first exercise to help prepare him for turning from back to tummy. We are activating the brain and central nervous system in a way that triggers baby's reflexes. Here the goal is for Ethan to bring his top leg in toward his tummy. As baby gets stronger, he will also lift his head a bit. He's crying because he doesn't like his arm pinned down and because he has to use his tummy muscles. We always start with his head on the left and then switch to head on the right. Make sure you practice on a firm enough surface because they need something to be able to push and strain against. Our homework was to do 7 reps, 3 times a day. We rarely met this goal but still saw the benefit.
