🥩 September is National Food Safety Education Month 🥦 While workplace safety is a well-known concept, food safety often gets less attention, even though it's just as important. Food safety refers to the practices that help prevent foodborne illnesses. These illnesses can be caused by a variety of things, including bacteria, viruses, and parasites. They can lead to symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps. Here are some basic food safety tips to keep in mind: ♦️ Clean: Wash hands, surfaces, and utensils with hot soapy water. ♦️ Separate: Keep raw and cooked foods apart to prevent cross-contamination. ♦️ Cook: Cook foods to their recommended internal temperature. ♦️ Chill: Refrigerate perishable foods promptly. In the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): 🛑 48 million people get sick from foodborne illnesses each year.  🛑 128,000 people are hospitalized. 🛑 3,000 people die.  Globally, The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates: 🛑 600 million cases of foodborne diseases occur annually. 🛑 420,000 deaths occur annually 👉🏽 Take a deeper dive and check out AP Safety Training's effective training content on this very important topic: https://tinyurl.com/mr28ubyb How about FREE Microlearning download for you?
