It seems like every time you turn on the news there’s something new happening, and in the worst way. Nadine and Tarini have been trying to record this episode for weeks now but it’s impossible to talk about any one tragedy that’s taken place in the world without talking about them all - because they’re all connected, also in the worst way. The structures of oppression that have maintained the occupation in Palestine are the same that continue to allow the occupation in Kashmir are the same that have allowed for Canada’s history of colonization. It’s important to draw parallels between these two in particular because it highlights the role the West has played in the narrative of the East. This week, Nadine and Tarini discuss today’s global affairs (their favourite issue) and how to learn to acknowledge your own bias to start and dismantle the systems in which we operate that uphold oppression against marginalized communities.
