Outside, there’s a board saying: “We have 10,000 clothes, but only 4 are top quality.” Now, how will you find those 4? If you start checking one by one, it will take forever it’s impossible. So what do we do? We assume: Let’s search only clothes priced above ₹700. Then, let’s filter by material say, we only want cotton. Now from 10,000, we’ve filtered to maybe 1,000. From that, we can now find a good quality T-shirt. This is exactly what IT companies do too. A 12th-grade student recently messaged me asking, “Can I get into IT without a degree?” Tamil Nadu has a population of 75 million. Out of that, 1.5 million graduate every year. Among them, over 3 lakh students score above 70%. So companies use degrees and scores as filters because it’s practically impossible to conduct interviews for 20 million people. Even if a company is open to hiring without a degree, there will always be some kind of filtration process. So yes a degree is needed, unless you can show an alternative. If you don’t have a degree — maybe you’ve only completed a diploma — then make sure you’re standing out through: ✅ Courses ✅ Real projects ✅ Certifications ✅ Hands-on experience To everyone who completed 12th recently — congratulations!
