Have you ever wondered why cars don’t have dimples like golf balls? I mean, Since dimples were added to golf balls because they significantly improved their aerodynamics by reducing drag and helping the ball fly farther, wouldn’t it make sense that they could also increase a car's fuel efficiency? To test if the same effect would apply to a car, the MythBusters team covered a car in clay and added dimples all over it. Surprisingly, the dimpled car showed an 11 percent improvement in fuel efficiency. Despite this improvement, car manufacturers don’t use dimples because they think it would make the car look ugly.
