As a Raw Vegan it is important to eat more volume to maintain calories and achieve gains! ⬇️ It is 125 days now as what I like to call a Ra’ Sun Cooked Food eater and I’ve been trying hard to get in enough calories! I work out 5 days a week (which includes predominantly weight lifting) so eating enough calories for energy and gaining muscle is extremely necessary. * PASSION FRUIT + BERRY & DATE SMOOTHIE: I always break my fast with fruit and usually decide to do this in smoothie form as I can pack in the calories with a lot of fruit and dates in a smoothie in the am. Plus it’s not too much on the sensitive digestive system early. * JICAMA FRIES: A jicama is a turnip and an excellent replacement for potato. I experimented with it when I got my dehydrator and they came out good! They were light and flavorful because I added seasoning. SWEET ONION DRESSING + LARGE SALAD: It is important to pack your dressing with a lot of calories. I make sure to include dates. For the salad I like to have an array of veggies also for calories and gut health! TACO MEAT WRAP: This wrap was made from soaks (24hrs) sunflower seeds. I seasoned it with diy taco seasoning (cumin, paprika, chilli etc). It is wrapped in a raw coconut wrap and has onions, peppers, spinach inside! MANGO BBQ SALAD: Another nutrient packed drsssing with dates and mango for added calories! Also a colorful salad for the gut! This time with harder to digest veggies like cabbage and carrots. I eat this by 5 pm because I like to stop eating before 8 pm. FRUIT BOWL: Some days I am still hungry and will eat fruit a minimum of 2 hours after I eat dinner. This bowl was 1 banana, a mango, cocoa nibs and raisins, drizzles with date syrup! Let me know if you’d like more recipes!
