A caravan of migrants paused in Pijijiapan, Chiapas, on November 27 after traveling 130 kilometers from Tapachula. Exhaustion forced the group, which includes many children, to halt briefly as they strive to reach the US border before Christmas. “We feel they are trying to tire us out so that we give up and go back to Tapachula,” said Viviana Prado, a Colombian migrant. The caravan faces rising anxiety over the upcoming US presidential transition in January 2025, with migrants fearing stricter border enforcement under Donald Trump. “Like every country, the US is looking to protect itself, and maybe that’s why they’re sending so many back,” said Venezuelan migrant Luisa Bejarano. Despite challenges, the group continues northward, hopeful for a chance at a better life. __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality contents.
