Growing up in West Seneca, New York, the only child of a single mother, Nick Jones didn’t have much confidence in himself nor did he see college in his future. After serving in the U.S. Marines and attending two other colleges, Jones found his place and his confidence at Buffalo State. He has emerged as a leader on campus, serving as captain of the football team and a role model to his teammates. “The guys on the team have been like brothers. We’ve made memories I never want to forget,” Jones said. “Being part of an athletic program or a club is a great experience. College itself is a great experience.” Jones graduated in December 2016 with a degree in health and wellness. He said he’d like to pursue a career as a college football coach.
