A week prior to my publication of this video, I presented a video criticizing Taylor Marshall and Timothy Gordon for the inaccuracy of their presentation of Henri de Lubac's theology of nature and grace. In this follow-up video, I offer a more extensive presentation of Henri de Lubac's actual thought, including: the purpose and concerns regarding the topic, an overview of the history of theology on this question, the criticisms against de Lubac, and his response to them. Issues discussed include man's supernatural final end, natural desire for the beatific vision, the need for grace in attaining human nature's final end, divine freedom in the offer of grace, the postulation of 'pure nature,' and why de Lubac thinks certain hypothetical theories are insufficient, unnecessary, and dubious with regard to securing the gratuitousness of grace.
