Which sign did you start with or plan to?! You may be wondering “what ASL signs should I teach my baby first?”. If so, start with these! Here’s why: 1️⃣These words are used across many contexts. When it’s used over and over again, that is giving your child more and more exposure to the word, sign, and it’s meaning.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2️⃣These words have many language functions. They allow us to request (ask), protest (no or don’t like/want it), direct (go, get, need) and so much more. Even with only 1-2 words, these functions carry a lot of meaning for our little ones.⠀⠀⠀ 3️⃣Your child is able to communicate his/her basic needs and wants. Giving them a sign to use allows us to meet their need faster because it is more clear and understood. That is when we see a decrease in frustration in the child, as well as the parent or caregiver. 4️⃣These are some of the earliest words to develop. They are used often, serve many functions, and get their needs met! 🤱 Subscribe to @baby.feeding.development more baby feeding & development tips! 🤟 follow @mybaby.signs on IG for more sign language tips! #babysign #babysignlanguage #babysfirstword #firstword #playideas #BabySignLanguage #BabySigning #BabySigns #SignLanguageForBabies #TeachingBabySigns #CommunicationWithBaby #InfantSigns #BabyDevelopment #ParentingTips #SignsAndSymbols #SignsForBabies #BabyCommunication #LearnBabySigns #BabyMilestones #BabyTalk #ParentingAdvice #BabyGestures #ToddlerSigns #EarlyCommunication #ParentingJourney #BabyEducation #SignsForParents #BondingWithBaby #BabyLearning #ChildDevelopment #LanguageSkills #EducationalParenting #BabyTalkTime #SignLanguageLessons #CommunicationSkills
