It's light-weight and allows FTP access through your WordPress dashboard. Keep in mind that this plugin can be dangerous. If someone other than you use has access to the admin of your WordPress site they will also have access to your server through the FTP plugin. Likewise, if someone gets unauthorized access to your site (hacks it) they will have access to your server files via this plugin. To reduce the risk I usually install the plugin, do what I need to do, and then delete it again. If you're okay with those risks, let's install the plugin! To install this plugin go to its download page: https://miwisoft.com/wordpress-plugins/miwoftp-wordpress-file-manager This plugin is not in the WordPress repository, which is another to be careful with it. I haven't had any issues with it before and haven't heard any complaints from people so from my experience it's safe. On the Miwo plugin page click on the "Download" button. Then a purple box appears at the bottom of the page with the letter "P". Click on that to download the plugin. Once the zip file is downloaded to your hard drive. You can upload the plugin through your WordPress dashboard. Go to Plugins then Add New. Find the plugin on your hard drive, then upload it, install it and activate it. Once activated you will see a new Miwo FTP link in the left hand WordPress admin menu. Click on it. On the following page you will be presented with the files in the root directory for your WordPress site. You can use this interface to do almost all the same things as an regular FTP client. You have the option of uploading, downloading and deleting files. Depending on your server settings you may even be able to edit the files. The biggest difference is that an FTP client shows your hard drive files on the left and the server files on the right. Miwo FTP functions more like the File Manager on cPanel were you just see the files that are on the server, but you can upload and download them.
