In it I discuss client goals, the creative process of progressively building an image, and the random challenges that occur when shooting on location. I also describe the use case of the images (print, billboard, digital advertising, etc.) and how that affects the approach. I aim to share all information on camera, lens selection, lighting and light modifiers used to help you build an understanding of how to create these images yourself. Each new location, subject, story, and client combine for a unique outcome. In this first session, I am photographing a student for a 2 page spread in a University marketing book. The location is an engineering lab, that is specifically used for stress-testing materials. (Side note, now that I know this exists I'm going to try and find out if we can actually measure the build quality of some photography equipment).
