You have options for hotels when staying at Mexico beach resort areas. You can reserve a room at a big resort or there are always inexpensive hotels nearby. As you will see in this video, the room I booked in Acapulco has a big kitchen, balcony, two beds, and a big bathroom. From this place it was only a short 10 minute walk to the beachfront. The cost per night at the time I stayed there in February of 2017 was less than $35 USD. With the money I saved, I could use it for going out to restaurants and booking excursions. Of course, I always have the option of buying food at the local grocery store or local fresh market and cooking it on the stove back at my accommodations. It's nice to have options.
