Here's how to survive. :) This is THE DAILY PROMPT -- an unedited, stream-of-consciousness vlog/series on screenwriting, storytelling, and creativity that follows an indie producer as he attempts to build an independent film studio from scratch. In this episode, Jeff was inspired by a topic introduced by one of the Democratic primary political contenders in the US (Andrew Yang) — how automation is going to strip our civilization of millions of jobs in the years ahead. This is something Jeff has talked about (and has been passionate about) for many years, including in his 2015 TEDx Talk (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tH6AyjGgcns). Here, he goes a little further (into "sci-fi"?) about what's coming, and what to do right now to prepare yourself. Specifically: Become a screenwriter. Or, at least, learn the creative process and develop the skill of implementing your unique creative passions. Because that's the one area robots and artificial intelligence will never be able to compete with you. Sure, there's a bias at work here, and yes, it's a little tongue-in-cheek, but this is completely and totally serious. And Jeff doesn't care if you think he's crazy.
