Homemade Vanilla Bean Paste 2 cups raw sugar 1 cup water 5 vanilla beans. I used @lunavanilla.au vanilla beans Method: 1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Cook over low heat until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and cool to room temperature. 2. Cut the vanilla beans into 3cm pieces. Strain the sugar syrup into the blender and add the vanilla bean pieces. 3. Blitz for about 1 minute or until well blended. 4. Pour into a sterilised jar. Screw the lid on tightly and shake gently. Store in a cool dark space in the kitchen. 5. Shake every few days. Vanilla will be ready in 6-8 weeks.
