To mark the 10th anniversary of the 2012 attack on the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin, the Sikh Coalition convened speakers from three communities harmed by hate violence, as well as elected officials and staffers, for a virtual congressional briefing on July 26, 2022. Speakers included: Harpreet Singh Saini--the son of Paramjit Kaur, who was killed in the 2012 mass shooting at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin in Oak Creek, WI; Pastor Eric S. C. Manning of the Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church, South Carolina, which was targeted in a mass shooting in 2015; Rabbi Jeffrey Meyers, who serves as Rabbi and Cantor for Tree of Life Synagogue, Pittsburgh, which was targeted in a mass shooting in 2018; U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Richard Durban (D-IL); Senator Gary Peters (D-MI); and Congresswoman Grace Meng (D-NY).
