In this video, we discuss the three types of natural disasters; but it specifically discusses ten of the most common natural disasters and what causes them to occur. ๐ Your kids have probably heard the term 'natural disaster' in the classroom or on the news. A simple definition of a natural disaster is an adverse event initiated by natural processes, such as a sudden change in the earthโs crust or climate. There are plenty of categories that we can use to distinguish natural disasters, but here are the fundamental three: - Geological disasters - Hydrological disasters - Meteorological disaster What are the 10 Natural Disasters? Various phenomena like earthquakes, avalanches and landslides, volcanic eruptions, floods, hurricanes, cyclones and tornadoes, blizzards, tsunamis, and wildfires and are all natural hazards that kill thousands of people and destroy animal habitats and buildings every year. ๐ Volcanoes are one of the most incredible natural components on Mother Earth, but they are also one of the most terrifying and dangerous! When a volcano erupts, it can sometimes be extremely violent, pushing huge clouds of smoke and ash into the air. Other times eruptions arenโt so dramatic and produce long, flowing rivers that ooze all the way down the volcano!
