Travel photography blues real. And on the latest Japan photography vlog, I have them. Check me out on Instagram at http://www.instagram.com/brendanvanson | More Japan at: http://www.youtube.com/brendanvanson In Kanazawa today I'm feeling the travel photography blues. I have been going so hard, as you've seen on this Japan photography vlog series, and I'm a little bit tired. But, more than anything, I can kind of feel the edge of excitement coming off. And, that's exactly what I mean by the travel photography rut. The travel photography blues are essentially when you stop feeling that really interesting nature of the destination you visit. When you first arrive somewhere, you often feel over-excited. Everything you see is a photograph, and it's fun. But, over time, the excitement wears off and everything becomes kind of normal. It doesn't mean things aren't amazing. It's just that maybe the hardest thing about being a travel photographer is to maintain that curiosity about a destination for a long period of time. As amazing as Japan is, I'm basically ready for my next adventure. And, on the photography vlog tomorrow, I'll have my next Japanese adventure as I head to see the snow monkeys.
