The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows: Today will see some light rain lingering over the southwestern Cape Province, while the weather service has serious warnings out for much of the country with an Orange Level 5 for North West Province and northern Free State Province where severe storms could flood roads and damage homes, a Yellow Level 4 for western Mpumalanga Highveld and escarpment plus northeastern KwaZulu-Natal where heavy rain will cause flooding in low-lying spots, a Yellow Level 2 covering central and eastern Free State, Gauteng, southern Limpopo, North West Province, Mpumalanga Highveld and escarpment, and KwaZulu-Natal Province for more localized storm flooding, and another Level 2 for the coast where rough seas will make things tricky for boats and beach activities.
