As this came up recently in a Facebook group, I am sharing a method of mimicking beaded loom or square stitch by using brick stitch. This shows how to keep your beads in line instead of offset as in regular brick stitch. I don’t know if this method has a name… in-line brick stitch or maybe stacked brick stitch? I also don’t know if someone else has already introduced this stitch, if it is well known or if it is a new idea. It makes a very sturdy piece but it is tricky for a beginner. I highly recommend using a nylon thread, not a polymer thread such as Fireline, because a bit of stretch is helpful for tension. KO, Nozue Sonoko, Miyuki or OneG are all threads I recommend for this. If you have prior knowledge of this technique, or know of its name, please let me know!
