Hi everyone! Coming at you with a camera challenge this week! Shoot a vlog with ONLY PHOTOS. :) Guidelines/Helpful Tips: 1. No filming allowed! (Wow, first time you’ll hear me say that!) But you can take photos in a series so when you edit them together they look like they’re moving, but no filming, got it? ;) 2. Shoot with at least one other person if you can. It will be easier to get shots of both of you. 3. Apart from your photos, record sound. Ambiance, sound effects, dialogue, oh my! It will make your “pholog” feel less like a slideshow and more like a real vlog. If I do this again, I definitely want to experiment with more sounds! 4. Treat it like a real vlog. Remember establishing shots and take photos from a variety of angles. (Pro tip: try to think about how it’s going to edit together while you’re shooting! Don’t wait until you’re in post because you might find yourself with a bunch of random photos that don’t link together.) 5. Don’t script it! This is not a short film. This is a vlog. Document the real you. Your real experience. 6. Keep it short because let’s be real; photos don’t hold your attention nearly as long as video can. IF YOU DECIDE TO SHOOT A PHOTO VLOG, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE IT WITH ME! I’d love to see what you create! @nadia_charlene This was a lot of fun to make and got me thinking about filmmaking in a completely new way. Special thanks to my friend, Maggie, for taking the time out of her busy week to do this video with me. She’s a great photographer! :) If you liked this video go ahead and hit that like button, share, and SUBSCRIBE for more creative content.
