During the Winter Session of Parliament, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar addressed India’s balanced stance on Israel and Palestine. He emphasized that India values its strong relationship with Israel, particularly in counterterrorism efforts, and clarified that India is not bound by decisions of the International Criminal Court (ICC) as it is not a member. Simultaneously, he reaffirmed India's support for Palestine, highlighting contributions like an annual $5 million aid to UNRWA for Palestinian welfare. The session also saw debates on aviation infrastructure and confrontations over opposition protests, with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju criticizing disruptive tactics and emphasizing the need for constructive discussions in Parliament.
