If you've ever taken a photo in dim lighting and noticed ghosting or shakiness, that my friends is called "camera shake." When holding your camera indoors or at night, your hands will make tiny movements that will affect the sharpness of the picture. With Continuous/Burst mode, you can capture a bunch of images in rapid succession. In practice, this usually produces one or two sharp photos in every burst. Which means you'll have to sort through some blurry photos to find a sharp one, but it's a great trick in situations where you don't have a lot of time to adjust exposure settings.
