The confrontation of these two dames was very interesting and creatively productive. Elsa Schiaparelli was born in a family of Italian aristocrats. Her marriage quickly disintegrated and she was left alone with her little sick daughter. Elsa Schiaparelli started her business with the creation of unusual sweaters, which the Armenian diaspora of Paris knited for her. She created with Salvador Dalí and Jean Cocteau. Her clients were the Duchess of Windsor and Gala Dali. She dressed Hollywood stars, including Marlene Dietrich.
