This video tells the story of the Step Short Commemorative Arch, which sits at the top of the Road of Remembrance in Folkestone. During World War 1, service personnel marched down the Road of Remembrance on their way to the harbour. The Arch symbolises the sacrifice that these soldiers made during the Great War and ensures that their memory lives on. In this video you can see the arch being built in quick time. Step Short was established in 2008 with the aim of highlighting the important role that Folkestone played during World War One. Folkestone was a major port of embarkation for many service personnel on their way to Europe during WW1. For more information visit - www.stepshort.co.uk
