Manipur Ethnic Conflict Completes 2 Years; Communities Highlight Plight, Renew Demands Manipur completes 2 years of ethnic conflict today and both the Meitei and Kuki-Zomi communities, have made plans to observe the day, highlighting their plight while raising their demands. In Churachandpur the Kuki Students organisation has called for a shutdown, streets in the district headquarters wear a deserted look as shops remain closed and people remained indoors. The Indigenous tribal Leaders’ Forum in Churachandpur, has declared May 3 as Separation day to mark two years of the crisis and to remember lives lost in the conflict. Multiple event are lined up later in the day. In Kangpokpi as well total shut down has been enfored in Kuki areas.
