A new report from the Wall Street Journal says advertisers are slowly creeping back to X, formerly known as Twitter, not necessarily because they want to but because they have to. A major advertising agency, "Interpublic," is looking to merge with its rival, "Omnicom," in a $13 billion deal. Usually, that would have been a red flag for antitrust regulators under Biden. But now, it's looking more like a business opportunity for X, which is still struggling financially. In 2021, before Musk took over, Twitter was earning about $5.1 billion a year. Last year, X made just $2.6 billion. With all the debt Musk took to buy the company, X is paying out about $1.2 billion annually in interest. With Musk's political ties and Trump back in the White House, companies don't want to be caught in the crosshairs. And let's not forget, the South African racist made it clear how he feels about advertisers pulling out. Remember when he told Disney CEO Bob Iger and other execs to--and I quote--' go f*** themselves.' Even though the market says otherwise, X is still looking for new investors to convince folks that they're worth $44 billion.
