Yes, it actually works exactly how I've explained it! Firecut AI is a plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro made for editors to speed up the editing workflow. As a filmmaker and editor, speeding up any portion of the process is something very welcomed by many, which is why I've been really impressed with Firecut. Link to check it out: https://firecut.ai/?ref=emax Essentially you put your clip on the timeline, go to the Firecut plugin tab, and hit "remove silences". After that select your settings, and press go. Depending on the length of your clip, it'll take different amounts of time to cut your clip. In my example, it took Firecut just under 5 minutes to cut down my 40 minute clip into a 20 minute sequence with no silences. This made my editing process so much easier because I didn't need to scrub through my timeline to find the next portion of where I speak. I can just delete all the parts I don't want as I'm watching the cut version. But that's not all. Firecut also allows you to add dynamic zooms, add chapters for organization of your content piece, and one of the most impressive - multi track sequence editing. I have yet to try this to it's full potential as I do not yet have a podcast that I can put this to the test to, but from all the information I've read and the videos I've watched - this is a must have plugin if youre editing long form multicam sequences like podcasts or classes. Firecut will cut the sequence and switch camera angles based on who is talking at the moment. This is literally a must have if you edit podcasts - the best investment you can make.
