Some 1943 pennies were struck on lefover copper planchets instead of steel and some 1944 pennies were struck on leftover steel planchets instead of copper. There are 40 or so known 1944 Steel cents and 20 or so known 1943 Copper cents. Be sure to check you wheat cents to see if you have either of these pennies worth a fortune!
