My freezer is a gift and a curse. It allows me to extend the shelf life of food but I inevitably end up forgetting about things I’ve frozen for “way too long”. But what is “way too long”? I’ve often heard that 1 year is the maximum something should be frozen. But after going through my freezer I found two steaks that were frozen for over two years, and they weren’t just any old steaks. The one in this video is a bone in American wagyu chuck tomahawk (it might look familiar if you’ve been following me for a while). To add insult to injury, the seal on the vacuum bag broke and it was covered in freezer burn. Either way, I cooked it up and the results were surprisingly amazing. Having a fresh side by side comparison would have been better, but it was still extremely juicy, tender, and definitely not rotten in any way.
