The ULTIMATE Stock Screener: How to Find High-Quality Stocks For Long Term Investments (60K Stocks) in today’s video, I want to show you a way to find high-quality stocks that you might then want to invest in. The tool that I will share with you today is a quantitative tool that is basically searching databases to find stocks that match certain criteria. I will do is I will first show you how the TIKR global stock screener (or stock scanner) works and then in a second step share a set of criteria that you can use to screen for some of the best companies in the world (part 2 of this video series). A so-called stock screener is a quantitative tool. Stock screening describes the process of searching for companies that meet certain numerical criteria. Essentially a stock screener allows investors to quickly sort through the universe of stocks according to the metrics or parameters the investor is looking for. I believe that running a stock screener is probably one of the easiest ways to find new stock ideas. Personally, I really like the Finviz stock screener which is a free stock screener and which offers around 70 parameters to choose from - both fundamental and technical parameters. However, one possible shortcoming of finviz might be that the values of the parameters must be selected from a drop-down menu; it is not possible to enter a custom value. Another drawback of Finviz is probably that the number of “fundamental” metrics you can choose from is somewhat limited. But overall it’s a great tool. Obviously, there are alternatives to Finvz but those are either limited to U.S. and Canadian stock exchanges or they charge a membership fee to use their service. Another free alternative is TIKR. TIKR it’s a powerful stock research platform for fundamental investors. Their platform provides financials data, consensus estimates, valuation metrics, conference call transcripts, 13-F filings, and other foreign filings that allow you to track what superstar investors are buying or selling, insider ownership data, and much more. And unlike a Bloomberg terminal that few people can afford as it’s something like $20,000 per year, TIKR’s current beta version is for free. I expect them to charge some money in the future but for now it’s completely free! And I have to say that I absolutely love the tool they have created and I have used screenshots provided by their platform in many of my videos. TIKR launched a global stock screener that screener covers a universe of around 60,000 global stocks and provides you around 300 parameters that you can incorporate into your screening process.
