Who was Galadriel in Lord Of The Rings? Galadriel was the "Lady" of the woods of Lothlórien, which she ruled with Celeborn her husband. One of the greatest of the Elves in Middle-earth, she surpassed nearly all others in beauty, knowledge, and power. Tolkien thought of her, along with Gil-galad the Elven-king, as one of the mightiest and fairest of all the Elves left within Middle-earth during the Third Age. Galadriel was born in Valinor in the Years of the Trees IN THE YEAR 1362, before the First Age. She was the only daughter and youngest child of Finarfin, prince of the Ñoldor and of Eärwen, whose cousin was Lúthien. Galadriel was a niece of Fëanor, the most important Elf of the early First Age. She was, however, no mere fey being, but a lady of great power. She bore one of the Great Rings - Nenya - the Ring of Adamant, and if she had taken the One Ring from Frodo during the Third Age, she would be well equipped to destroy the Dark Lord Sauron.
