Frederiksborg Castle (Frederiksborg Castle), located in Hillerød, was built as a summer royal residence, and today is the National History Museum. The castle is built on three small islands and united by a lush garden in baroque style. The oldest part of it was built in 1560 by King Frederick II, after whom is named lock. However, most modern building built in the style of the Dutch Renaissance, with its wide gables, ornaments made of sandstone, copper roofs and steeples, was built in the period 1600-1620 gg. son of Frederick II, Christian IV.
