Rebecca Thomas is a poet and spoken word artist. On top of her accomplishments as Halifax’s former Poet Laureate, and the Student Services Advisor and Indigenous Support at NSCC; Rebecca holds a Masters Degree in Social Anthropology from Dalhousie University and was a recent winner of the Indigenous Artist Recognition Award from Arts Nova Scotia and the Creative Nova Scotia Leadership Council. She has preformed with Juno Award winning artists A Tribe Called Red, she's written for the CBC and Washington Post, and has multiple children's books soon to be published.
