This year we had the opportunity to record some old Egyptian folk and popular tunes at Bias recording studios in Springfield VA. We were happy with the way they turned out, so we decided to make a video to go with them! One of our musicians from the recording session was not available to be in the video, but you can still enjoy his audio contributions. Songs featured in this video: Lama Bada Yatta Thana (muwashsha, Selim el-Masri) Al Hilwa Di (Sheikh Sayid Darwish) Ah Ya Zeyn (folklore) Raqsat al Hawanim (folklore) Saba Samir (folklore) Musicians in this video: Abderrahim Amthqal - Ney; Chakib Hilali - Oud; Kylie Hilali - Qanun; Druminic - Percussion; Bryan Bowman - Percussion ("off camera") The Saltanah Ensemble performs traditional Arabic music, and is based in Washington DC / Northern Virginia / Maryland.
