The "4 O'clock Parade" which is also known as the "Dismounting Ceremony" takes place on the Whitehall entrance to the Horse Guards parade ground. It takes place as the title suggests at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. At 4 o'clock a small troop of guards, of either the red "Life Guards" or blue "Blues and Royals" march out of their building and into the small courtyard and the mounted guards from the boxes also come in and line up alongside the troopers. The troops and the horses are then inspected by an officer and the the horses are dismounted before being led away to stables.
